چکیده

Background: The toxic effect of sodium arsenate on nervous system has been shown; but the protective effects several compounds against are not clear. This study aimed to investigate nicotine and bucladesine, two positive modulators neuronal function, toxicity avoidance memory impairment. Methods: Male mice (N=154) were assigned 22 groups (12 experimental 10 control) seven animals each treated as follows: (2.5, 5, or mg/kg) for 28 days, (1 either 1, 2, 4 bucladesine (600 nM/mouse) mg/kg)+bucladesine nM/mouse)+sodium (2.5 mg/kg). last group was with 2.5 mg/kg first, then received combination 4-days. corresponding control did receive any drug saline, deionized water, water DMSO, went through same procedure other animals. All trained 24 h in step-through passive task. retention assessed at 24, 48, 96, 168 after training period by measuring time they stayed a dark chamber. Results: doses significantly reduced chamber regardless treatment duration (24, 96 & h) training. Both whether used singly combined days enhanced latency compared controls all timepoints following Conclusion: Nicotine showed synergistic reversed arsenate-induced deficits mice.
